초록

Since the enactment of the "Special Act on the Promotion and Support of Urban Regeneration" in 2013, Korea has pursued various urban regeneration projects, achieving both success and challenges. This study examines the characteristics of Japanese urban regeneration projects and compares them with those of Korea to establish the direction in which Korean urban regeneration projects should proceed. The comparative analysis of urban regeneration project characteristics suggests that, in the "pre-project" phase, systematic planning and public regulation are essential to ensure execution. Furthermore, ongoing project selection is crucial to ensure the feasibility and viability of the plan. In the "project" phase, a balanced approach to hardware and software implementation that achieves the project's vision and goals should be prioritized. Furthermore, rather than focusing on the completion of individual projects and budget execution, projects should be driven toward tangible change and revitalization of the region. Furthermore, a system that allows diverse participation by project participants is essential. In the ‘post-project’ phase, establishing a national-level post-project management system was identified as a key task to ensure expansion and sustainability of business performance, and it is necessary to focus on expanding the participation of the private sector, which can perform various roles such as regional management.

Abstract

Since the enactment of the "Special Act on the Promotion and Support of Urban Regeneration" in 2013, Korea has pursued various urban regeneration projects, achieving both success and challenges.
