본 연구는 초등학생의 ‘에너지’ 개념 변화에 학교에서의 학습이 끼치는 영향을 알기 위하여 수행되었다. 학생의 에너지 개념 변화를 알기 위하여 초등학교 6학년 학생 79명을 대상으로 ‘에너지와 도구’ 단원을 학습하기 이전과 이후에 개념 확인을 위한 검사를 실시하였다. 인지 개념 확인을 위하여 ‘에너지’라는 단어를 듣고 떠오르는 생각을 자유롭게 쓰는 한편, 개념 확인 문제를 통하여 이해도를 측정하였다. 조사한 내용의 특징을 살펴본 결과, 개념의 양과 이해도가 학교 학습의 결과로 증대되었다. 특히, 선행연구에 반하여 학교에서의 학습이 초등학생의 에너지 개념 변화에 결정적인 영향을 끼친다는 것을 알게 되었다. 따라서 초등학교 교육과정을 개발할 때, 에너지 교육의 중요성을 인식하여 보다 체계적으로 학습의 내용을 선정하여 조직하는 것이 필요하다는 것을 확인하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of school learning on students' change of energy concepts. To analyze the concept change, we investigated the 79 students' concepts in 6th grade before and after the classes on the unit of ‘Energy and Tools’. Students were asked to write down freely the words reminded related to ‘Energy’ and the performed pre and post test to measure the understanding of energy concepts. As a results, we found out that the concepts' amounts and degree of understanding related to the energy were increased as a result of school learning; this is different from the results of researches before. We confirmed that the contents on energy should be selected and organised more systematically in developing educational curriculum regarding the importance of school learning.
