Abstract
Energy is a crucial concept to understand natural phenomena and fundamental theories of science. This study addresses various points of improvement for better understanding of science based on the analysis of the primary level of the 2015 revised national science curriculum. The problems and limitations of energy-related curricular statements are analyzed following the categories reported from the previous studies, including the forms of energy, source of energy, energy transfer, energy conservation, and efficient energy usage. We found that each concept of energy has a different meaning in different contexts; thus, the concept of energy is ambiguous among students. Additionally, some concepts should be rearranged according to the progression of concepts, such as heat and temperature. The inadequate explanation of the forms and transformation of energy results in ambiguity among students. Therefore, this study highlights some implications that should be considered in energy education in primary schools.
