기후변화는 전 세계 각 지역에 직접적으로 영향을 미치는 범인류적 당면 문제이다. 따라서 기후변화에 따른 미래 지구 변화에 대한 범국가적․국가적․지역적․개인적 차원에서 뿐만 아니라, 학교교육에서도 적절한 대응이 절실하다. 이른바 대중들을 위한 과학적 소양 교육 차원에서 접근이 필요하다. 이 연구는 지구환경 시스템 내에서 지구환경 구성 요소들 간의 상호작용이나 지역 간 상호작용에 관한 내용을 중심으로 지리과 교수-학습 내용을 구성하여 제시하고자 하였다. 즉, 지구 온난화에 민감한 극지와 적도 지역을 중심으로 기후변화의 증거가 되는 사실들을 제시하여 지구환경 시스템 내에서 일어나는 상호작용의 맥락적 이해에 기여할 수 있도록 구성하였다. 이 연구를 통해, 범교과적으로는 다양한 방법으로 기후변화 교육이 이루어질 수 있는 가능성을 제시하고자 하였다. 또한, 지리 교과적 측면에서는 기후변화 관련 교수-학습 내용에 있어서 다른 교과와 차별화할 수 있는 방안을 제시하고자 하였다. 특히 앞으로도 기후변화에 관한 연구 결과물들은 더욱 많이 제공될 것이기 때문에 기후변화와 관련된 학교교육 내용에 관한 교과별 교수-학습 자료는 지속적으로 개발되어야 할 것이다.
Abstract
Climatic change is believed by many to be the most important issue we face. Therefore, it is urgent to respond appropriately not only in the international, national, regional, and individual dimensions of future global changes due to climate change, but also in school education. It is necessary to approach the so-called science literacy education for the public. The purpose of this study is to construct and present geography teaching - learning contents focusing on the interaction between the components of the global environment and interregional interaction in the global environment system. In other words, the findings of evidence on climate change centered on polar and equatorial regions, which are sensitive to global warming, are presented to contribute to the contextual understanding of interactions taking place within the global environmental system. Through this study, we tried to suggest the possibility of education on climate change in various ways. In addition, geographical aspects have been proposed to differentiate from other subjects in teaching - learning contents related to climate change. In particular, since more research on climate change will be provided in the future, it will be necessary to continuously develop teaching-learning materials for curriculum contents related to climate change.
