『詩調國文歌詞』에 수록된 애국지사 등장 시조 연구

본고의 목표는『詩調國文歌詞』에 수록된 작품 중에서 애국지사가 등장한 시조의 의의를 살펴보는 데 있다.『詩調國文歌詞』는『고시조대전』과『고시조 문헌 해제』를 통해 소개되었다. 특히『고시조 문헌 해제』에서는 문헌의 기본적인 특성, 작품 배열의 기준, 편찬 시기 같은 요소가 정리되어 있다. 이 문헌에 대해 구체적인 연구를 찾아보기 어려운 실정을 감안할 때 매우 좋은 참고자료가 되었다. 본고에서는 이러한 선행연구 업적을 참조하면서 다음과 같은 사항들을 다루어보고자 한다. 우선,『詩調國文歌詞』에 수록된 애국지사 등장 시조의 작품을 면밀하게 분석해 보고자 한다. 이 문헌에는 모두 86편의 시조가 수록되어 있다. 특히 이 중에서 애국지사가 등장하는 시조는 두 편 있는데, 문헌 내에서의 비중을 양적인 측면으로 생각해 볼 때는 많은 비중을 차지한다고 보기에는 어렵다. 그러나 이들 두 편의 시조가『詩調國文歌詞』의 편찬 시기를 추정할 수 있게 한다는 점 등을 고려한다면 일정한 의미를 가질 수 있다고 할 수 있다. 아울러 시조의 역사적인 면에서도 나름의 의의를 찾아볼 수 있다. 19세기 말에서 20세기 초에는 국민들의 애국심을 고취시키고자 하는 작품들이 다량으로 산출되던 시기였다. 그러나 1910년을 기점으로 국권이 완전히 상실되고 언론에 대한 탄압이 행해지게 되었다. 따라서 이와 같은 작품을 창작하기가 어려워지게 되었다. 하지만 1910년으로부터 10~20년 후에 편찬되는 것으로 추정되는『詩調國文歌詞』에 수록된 두 작품은, 앞선 시기의 작품들과 비슷한 내용을 담고 있다. 즉, 국민들의 애국심을 고취시키고자 하는 작품의 창작은 1910년 이후에도 계속되었던 것이다.
Abstract
The objective of this study is to observe significance of Sijo with patriot as character among the works contained in 'SijoGookmoonGasa' which was introduced through 'Gosijo Daejeon' and 'Explanation of literature on Gosijo'. In particular, in 'Explanation of literature on Gosijo', basic features, criteria of works creation and compilation time of literature are arranged. Given that it was difficult to find detailed research on this literature, it provided very useful references. In this study, by referring to preceding research achievements, following matters are intended to be handled. First, Sijo works with patriot as character contained in 'SijpGookmoonGasa' is intended to be analyzed in detail. In this literature, total 86 pieces of Sijo are contained. In particular, there are two pieces of Sijo with patriot as character but when considering importance in literature quantitatively, it is hard to say that its position is significant. However, considering that compilation time of 'SijoGookmoonGasa' could be estimated by these two pieces of Sijo, its importance is considered to be hardly negligible. Additionally, in historical terms of Sijo also, its significance could be found in its own way. End of 19c and early 20c were the times when literary works trying to inspire patriotism of the people were published in abundance. However, from the beginning of 1910, state power was lost completely and press suppression was intensified. Therefore, it was hard to create such works. However, two works contained in 'SijoGookmoonGasa' that was presumed to be compiled during 1920-1930s contain similar contents of the works of preceding times. In other words, creation of the works trying to inspire patriotism of the people was continued even after 1910.
