이 연구의 목표는 ATCOSIM(구어 항공관제영어) 코퍼스를 어휘항목 빈도수와 두 개의 참조코퍼스인 BNC Sampler Spoken과 COCA Spoken을적용하여 목표코퍼스로부터 추출된 키워드에 대해서 워드스미스 툴 6.0을 사용하여 코퍼스 기반으로 어휘분석을 하는 것이다. ATCOSIM은 총108,351어절, BNC Sampler Spoken은 총 987,029어절, COCA Spoken은총 92,972,888어절로 구성된 코퍼스이다. 그 결과 ATCOSIM에서 상위빈도 어휘유형은 내용어였고, 반면에 BNC Sampler Spoken과 COCASpoken에서의 상위빈도 어휘유형은 기능어였다. 또한 긍정키워드와 부정키워드 분석에서 그 둘 사이에 중대한 차이점은 없었다. 이 코퍼스에서 추출한 데이터는 실제 교육자료를 제공하여 영어학습자와 교수자에게 효과적으로 사용될 수 있을 것이라 판단된다.
Abstract
The goal of this study is a corpus-based lexical analysis of ATCOSIM(Spoken Air TrafficControl English) in terms of frequencies and ranks of lexical items and keywords extractedfrom a study corpus against two reference corpora, BNC Sampler Spoken and COCA Spoken,using Wordsmith tools 6.0. In detail, ATCOSIM consists of 108,351 words, BNC SamplerSpoken has 987,029 words and COCA Spoken includes 92,972,888 words. The result showedthat the most frequent word forms in ATCOSIM were content words, whereas the most frequentones in BNC Sampler Spoken and COCA Spoken were function words. In addition, inan analysis of positive and negative keywords, there was no significant difference between twoof them. The data extracted from these corpora will be used effectively for English learners and instructorswith authentic education materials.
