Abstract
The purpose of this study is to test human minds in the age of artificial intelligence caused by the fourth industrial revolution today. Cognitive science explains human mind through artificial intelligence. But is human mind enough to explain through artificial intelligence? In this consciousness of the problem, this study examined each of the theories that deal with ‘mind’ with spirit, brain, and machine, and examined whether these are enough to successfully explain the human mind. First, according to interactive dualism, mind is spirit. It is thought that this fundamentally different body and mind acts mutually causally and influences each other. Second, according to Mind-Body identity theories, mind is brain. The human mind is like that caused by the neurophysiological action of the brain. In other words, human mind can be said to be accompanied by brain state. Third, according to functionalism, mind is machine. In functionalism, the human mind is the realization of the Turing machine, and human is a machine with the function of mind. In the end, the human mind is a computer with an information processing device called the brain. Fourth, it’s a human mind. The human mind has the ability to think and act on its own. Self-consciousness, subjectivity, personality, creativity, and morality can be said to be unique properties of mind that only human beings have. Therefore, the human mind is an essential characteristic that identifies human identity. In this paper, I want to show that it is not enough to explain human mind through artificial intelligence.
