이탈리아의 패전, 냉전, 평화조약과 관념 - 한일관계에 주는 함의

초록

제2차 세계대전 후의 이탈리아에 대한 연구는 독자적으로 존재하지만, 한일관계 연구자들이 관심을 기울이는 영역이기도 하다. 한국과 일본의 관계 성찰을 위해 전후 이탈리아를 선례적으로 주목한다는 것이다. 이 연구 역시 한일관계를 의식하지만, 기존연구와 달리 중점적으로 이탈리아의 전후 역학에 큰 비중을 둔다. 제2차 세계대전 추축국의 핵심이며, 파시즘의 상징이었던 이탈리아의 전후란 어떠한 것이었는가. 구체적으로 이탈리아의 패전 형태, 유럽 냉전 초기의 입지, 이탈리아평화조약에 내재된 전쟁과 식민지 문제, 그리고 전후 이탈리아가 가지게 된 관념 등을 부각시킴으로써 패전국 이탈리아의 특수성을 확인한다. 이러한 이탈리아를 둘러싼 층위들을 반추한 후, 결론을 대신하여 한일관계에 주는 함의를 추출한다.

Abstract

Although studies on Italy after World War II exist independently, postwar Italy is also an area that is noticed by researchers on ROK-Japan relations. The researchers take notice of Italy after World War II as a precedent in order to contemplate the relationship between ROK and Japan. This study is also conscious of ROK-Japan relations, but unlike previous studies, this study primarily focuses on Italy’s postwar dynamics. This study examines the postwar dynamics of Italy, which was the core of the Axis powers in World War II and was a symbol of fascism. Concretely, this study checks the form of defeat of Italy in the war, the position of Italy in the early period of European Cold War, the war and colonial problems inherent in the Treaty of Peace with Italy, and ideas that Italy became to have after the war. After ruminating on the layers surrounding Italy as such, this study extracts the implications for ROK-Japan relations instead of conclusions.
