본 연구의 목적은 사회복지전공 학생들의 ‘질적연구방법론’ 수업경험을 탐색해봄으로써 사회복지교육의 향후 과제를 제시하는 것이다. 질적연구방법론 교과목을 수강한 학생들은 휴리스틱패러다임 관점을 통해 사회복지조사의 본래 목적에 근거한 방법론적 다원화의 중요성을 이해하고 현장중심연구에 적합한 질적연구방법론의 강점을 인식할 수 있는 기회를 가졌다. 또한 그들은 질적연구과정에서 필요한 외부세계로의 집중과 자기성찰 및 타자중심으로 변화하는 훈련을 통해 반성적 사고 및 실천의 필요성을 공유하였다. 한편 낯설고 방대한 질적연구방법론 학습과정의 어려움은 학교수업과 같은 공동체적 지지를 제공해 줄 수 있는 교육환경에서 극복해나갈 수 있음을 시사하였다. 사회복지교육의 과제로 사회복지전공학생들의 질적연구방법론 관련 학습 접근성 및 용이성을 높이기 위한 관련 교과목 개발과 개설의 활성화 그리고 교수인력 양성을 위한 시스템 개발을 제안한다.
Abstract
This study is designed to explore social welfare graduate students' experiences with a class of qualitative research method, and its implications for social welfare education. The study participants understood the importance of methodological pluralism contributing to the essential purpose of social work research through the heuristic paradigm. And they had an opportunity to appreciate the strengths of qualitative research method that fits to field-based research. They shared their experiences with the need for reflective thinking and practice through their attention to the external world and others, and their practice to self-reflection processes. The study results hint that students' difficulties learning qualitative research method could be achieved through a communal, mutual-aid process as the study participants had in their class. Suggestions include to develop a system to cultivate teaching manpower for and to enhance social welfare students' learning efficiency and accessibility to qualitative research method.
