본 연구는 사회복지학을 전공하는 대학생을 대상으로 현재 죽음교육에 대한 만족도 및 욕구를 파악하고, 그들의 죽음태도를 탐색하여 향후 사회복지영역에서 죽음교육프로그램 개발을 위한 기초자료를 제공하고자 한다. 연구대상은 D시와 K지역에 소재한 4개 대학의 사회복지학전공 대학생 296명으로, 비무작위 편의추출 방법을 활용하여 자료를 수집하였으며, 통계분석은 SPSS 15.0을 활용하였다. 연구결과, 조사대상자들의 현 교과과정 내 죽음교육에 대한 만족도는 50% 이하로 나타나 낮은 반면, 죽음교육에 대한 욕구는 70% 이상 높게 나타났으며, 죽음교육에 대한 교수방법으로는 실습과 체험, 사례중심의 교수법에 대한 요구가 높은 것으로 제시되었다. 또한, 조사대상자들의 죽음태도는 죽음경험과 죽음교육경험에 따라 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타나, 죽음교육이 긍정적 죽음태도와 관련성이 있는 것으로 제시되었다. 이러한 연구결과를 기초로 사회복지학교육과정에서 죽음교육의 필요성에 관한 함의와 후속연구에 대한 방안을 제시하였다.
Abstract
This study investigates the needs of death education and their death attitude among college students majoring Social Welfare. For the purpose of the study, the survey was conducted and 296 college students at 4 universities in D city and K province participated. The collected data was analyzed by using SPSS Win 15. The result of the study showed that more than 50% of subjects responded unsatisfied or very unsatisfied with death education within Social Welfare Curriculums now, while over 70% of them considered death education was needed. In addition, field practice, discussion and case studies were selected as teaching methods for death education. Finally, the implication for death education in Social Welfare and recommendation for further study were provided.
