가정폭력 피해여성을 위한용서 집단상담 프로그램 개발 및 효과성 평가

본 연구는 가정폭력 피해여성의 심리적 상처를 치유하고 정신적 건강을 회복시키기 위하여 Enright의 용서심리과정모형을 바탕으로 집단상담 프로그램을 개발․운영하고 그 효과를 평가하는 데 목적이 있다. 용서 프로그램은 쉼터에 입소한 피해여성 총 12명(실험집단 6명, 비교집단 6명)을 대상으로 5주 동안 매주 2회씩 총 10회기 운영하였으며 효과성 평가를 위하여 용서, 분노, 불안, 우울, 자존감, 희망, 주관적 안녕감 심리 척도를 실험집단과 비교집단에게 프로그램 실시 이전(사전), 이후(사후), 그리고 4주후(추후)에 실시하였다. Wilcoxon Matched Pairs Signed-Rank Test 분석결과, 실험집단은 비교집단에 비해 용서 점수가 유의하게 향상되었고 분노, 불안, 우울, 자존감, 희망, 주관적 안녕감에서도 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 아울러 양적 분석을 보완하고 참여자의 심리적 변화와 용서에 대한 태도 및 행동변화를 확인하기 위하여, 전체 치료 과정동안 참여자들이 직접 보고한 심리일지와 상담자의 관찰 보고서를 내용분석 하였다. 분석결과, 용서 프로그램은 가정폭력 피해여성의 상처를 치유하고 심리적 증상을 완화시키며 정신건강을 향상시킴으로써 심리적 회복과 성장을 돕는 치료 효과가 있음을 확인하였다. 본 연구결과를 토대로, 가정폭력 피해여성을 위한 상담 프로그램에 대한 시사점과 상담자를 위한 제언을 도출하였다.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of a group counseling program based on Enright's forgiveness process model in treating the psychological trauma of female victims of domestic violence and in restoring their mental health. The forgiveness program was administered to 12 female victims residing at the shelter (6 subjects - experimental group, 6 subjects - control group) during 10 sessions, with 2 sessions a week over the course of 5 weeks. The effectiveness is evaluated through measures of such psychological factors as forgiveness, anger, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, hopefulness in the experimental and control groups during pre-test, post-test, and 4-week follow-ups. Results of Wilcoxon Matched Pairs Signed-Rank Test suggest that the experimental group saw a significant increase in forgiveness, self-esteem, hopefulness, subjective well-being and a significant decrease in anger, anxiety, and depression compared to the comparative group. Also observed were significant decreases in depression and increases in hopefulness and subjective well-being in the experimental group. The study further analyzed daily logs and observational reports recorded by the female victims and the counselors for supplementing statistical analyses and for identifying any psychological changes on the part of the subjects such as shifts in attitudes and behaviors toward forgiveness. After quantitative and qualitative analyses, the forgiveness program was found to relieve the psychological symptoms of female domestic violence victims and to improve their mental health, thereby assisting their recovery and growth. The study's implications on counseling programs for female victims of domestic violence and suggestions for counselors are further presented.
