집단상담 실습수업에서의 리더경험에 관한 현상학적 연구

초록

본 연구의 목적은 집단상담 실습수업에서 초심상담자들이 리더 경험을 통해 무엇을 학습하는지 그 경험과 의미를 심층적으로 이해하는데 있다. 이를 위해 대학원 집단상담 수업 과정 중 리더로서 집단운영 경험에 참여한 초심상담자 7명을 대상으로 포커스그룹 인터뷰와 개별 면담이 이루어졌다. Giorgi의 현상학적 연구방법을 적용하여 심층면담을 통해 도출된 302개의 의미단위로부터 9개의 핵심 구성요소와 18개의 하위 구성요소를 생성하였다. 9개의 핵심 구성요소는 다음과 같다: ‘리더로서 책임감과 부담감을 가짐’, ‘공동리더 간 상호작용이 집단운영에 영향을 미침을 자각함’, ‘집단운영과정에서 위기를 만남’, ‘자신의 미해결 과제에 직면함’, ‘집단과정에 대해 도움을 요청함’, ‘집단원과의 상호작용이 자기성찰로 이어짐’, ‘집단의 매력을 느낌’, ‘개인적인 변화를 경험함’, ‘리더로서 성장가능성을 확인함’. 연구결과를 통해 발견된 초심집단상담자의 리더 경험의 본질적 의미는 ‘자기성찰과 상호작용을 통한 학습’으로 이해할 수 있다. 이러한 리더 경험의 의미에 대해 논의하고 향후 연구에 대한 제언을 덧붙였다.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to gain a full understanding of the group-leading experiences of novice group counselors and their meaning during group counseling. For this purpose, focus group and personal interviews were conducted with 7 novice counselors who participated in group counseling experience as leaders in graduate school group counseling class. Giorgi’s descriptive phenomenological method was utilized and 9 constituents and 18 sub-constituents were derived from 302 semantic units, and 9 constituents were as follows: ‘Being responsible and burdened as a leader’, ‘Awareness that interactions among leaders influence group process’, ‘Encountering a crisis in group process’, ‘Facing one's own unfinished business’, ‘Asking for help for the group process’, ‘leading interaction with group members to self-reflection’, ‘Felt attractiveness of group counseling’, ‘Experienced personal change’, ‘identifying growth potential as a leader.’ As the result from the study, the essential meaning of the experiences of the novice group counseling leaders can be comprehended as ‘learning from self-reflection and interaction.’ Implications and suggestions for future research were discussed.
