본 연구는 대학생의 내현적 자기애가 자기불일치를 통해 우울에 미치는 영향에서 외적 자기가치감 수반성의 조절된 매개효과를 검증하였다. 이를 위해 대학생을 대상으로 내현적 자기애, 우울, 자기불일치, 외적 자기가치감 수반성에 대한 설문을 실시하였으며, 총 435부의 자료가 분석에 사용되었다. 분석 결과, 첫째, 모든 변인 간에 유의미한 상관관계를 보였다. 둘째, 자기불일치는 내현적 자기애와 우울 간의 관계를 부분 매개하였다. 셋째, 외적 자기가치감 수반성은 자기불일치와 우울 간의 관계를 유의하게 조절하였다. 넷째, 내현적 자기애가 자기불일치를 매개로 우울에 미치는 영향에서 외적 자기가치감 수반성이 조절된 매개효과를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구 결과, 외적 자기가치감 수반성이 높을수록 내현적 자기애 성향을 가진 대학생의 자기불일치와 우울을 심화시키는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 우울을 완화하기 위해 내현적 자기애, 자기불일치와 함께 외적 자기가치감 수반성이 통합적으로 고려되어야 한다는 점을 시사한다.
Abstract
This study examined the moderated mediating effect of external contingencies of self-worth on the effect of covert narcissism on depression through self-discrepancy among college students. A total of 435 college students completed self-report questionnaires measuring covert narcissism, depression, self-discrepancy, and external contingencies of self-worth. The results showed that, first, all variables were significantly correlated. Second, self-discrepancy partially mediated the relationship between covert narcissism and depression. Third, external contingencies of self-worth significantly moderated the relationship between self-discrepancy and depression. Fourth, external contingencies of self-worth was found to have a moderated mediating effect in the effect of covert narcissism on depression through self-discrepancy. As the stuy results, higher levels of external contingencies of self-worth intensified self-discrepancy and depression in college students with covert narcissism. These findings suggest that covert narcissism, self-discrepancy and external contingencies of self-worth should be considered in an integrated manner to effectively alleviate depression.
