초록
근래에 우리 사회의 절실한 화두는 공정과 정의이다. 이 화두의 답은 어느 순간 일어나는 한 번의 깨우침으로 얻어지지 않는다. 답을 얻으려면 우리는 다양한 정의론들을 검토할 필요가 있다. 동양의 고전적 사상가들 가운데 정의 문제에 대해 누구보다도 포괄적이며 깊이 있는 이론을 제시한 사람은 묵자였다. 이 글에서는 묵자의 사상과 그 속에 포함된 義論이 어떠한 것이었으며, 오늘날의 정의 문제에 대해 어떤 가르침을 제공할 수 있는가를 밝힌다. 이 글에서는 유가와 대조시켜 묵자의 사상과 의론의 특징, 그리고 그것이 갖는 현대적 의미를 밝히고, 오늘날 우리가 계승 발전시켜 나가야 할 점을 고찰해 본다.
Abstract
In recent years, the most pressing topic in our society is fairness and justice. The answer to this topic is not obtained by a single enlightenment that occurs at some point. To get an answer, we need to examine various theories of justice. Among the classical thinkers of the East, Mozi was the one who proposed a more comprehensive and in-depth theory on the issue of justice than anyone else. This article reveals what Mozi's thoughts and theories of justice were, and what teachings can be provided on today's issues of justice. This article intends to shed light on the characteristics of Mozi's thought and the theory of justice compared to Confucian thought, as well as its modern meaning, and consider what we need to succeed and develop today.
