율곡의 효경론(孝敬論)의 윤리적 특성 - 인덕(仁德)과 의덕(義德)의 실천을 중심으로

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to Investigate the ethical characteristics of Yulgok's theory of filial piety. This theory mainly described in the 『Seonghakjibyo(聖學輯要)』 『Kyegmongyokyel(擊蒙要訣)』 written by Yulgok. So In order to achieve the research purpose, we devoted to analyzing the context of these writings, focusing on the practice of benevolence virtue and righteousness virtue. In this study, we developed the discussion in detail as follows. First, we studied the ethical value of filial piety in the issue of rule home. Second, focused on the issues of practicing benevolence virtue and righteousness virtue, we analyzed three types filial piety such as taking care of parents, funerals and ancestral rites. Third, We attempted to explain the characteristics of filial piety from the perspective of practicing benevolence virtue. In addition, we discussed ethical meaning of ganjaeng(諫諍) which Yulgok expressed as the pinnacle of filial piety. Fourth, regarding the issue of spreading the virtue of filial piety to society, we analyzed ethical characteristics of filial piety based on the issues of practicing benevolence virtue and righteousness virtue. By analyzing the filial piety with a focus on practicing benevolence virtue and righteousness virtue, this paper elucidated the ethical characteristics of the theory of filial piety in Yulgok’s thoughts. We consider this research viewpoint attempted in this paper is a meaningful perspective. so the results of this paper have much valuable significances.
