본 연구논문은 율곡 사회사상의 철학실천에 관한 접근이다. 또한 전통의 현대적 적용가능성에 관한 물음이자 대답이기도 하다. 율곡은 사회사상의 철학실천의 현실적 구현을 위하여 실덕지사(實德之士)의 ‘실공(實功)’ 범주를 강조하였다. 율곡의 ‘실공’은 수양공부를 통한 도덕가치의 인식이라는 개인적 측면의 ‘실공’과 도덕가치의 사회사상의 철학실천을 통한 사회적 선의 확충이다. 또한 율곡은, 대동 사회는 정심(正心)을 온전하게 체득한 사람들이 ‘득중합의’의 사회사상의 철학실천에서 인의예지의 4덕을 통해 사회적 선을 실현할 것을 주창하고 있다. 율곡은, 수기치인의 최종 목표는 성인(聖人)의 경지라고 보았다. 그 전거로 율곡은, 극기복례는 변화기질 및 교기질의 방법으로 기를 그 본연으로 회복하는 수양공부를 제시한다. 율곡은 사회적 개혁에 대하여 남다르게 강한 의지를 지닌 사회사상의 철학실천가였다. 즉, 율곡은 경장에 대한 당위성의 원리로 시의변통론(時宜變通論)을 주장하였다. 율곡 사회사상의 철학실천의 특징은 도덕적 수양의 차원이 사회문제의 해결 및 교화에 이르기까지 일관성있는 이론체계를 지닌다. 율곡의 사회사상의 철학실천적 선구가 되고 하나의 전범(典範)이라는 점에서 그 학술적 위상을 인식할 수 있다. 또한 이것은 16세기라는 시대적 한계를 넘어 근대의식의 발로이며, 더 나아가 21세기 오픈 AI 메타버스 시대에도 전통의 현대적 변용으로 수용·적용 가능한 측면이 많다는 점에서 수월성이 있다고 할 수 있다.
Abstract
This research paper is an approach to the philosophical practice of Yulgok's social thought. It is also a question and answer about the modern applicability of tradition. Yulgok emphasized the category of ‘practical reality(實功)’ of the master of practical virtue in order to realistically implement the philosophical practice of social thought. Yulgok’s ‘practical reality(實功)’ is the personal aspect of ‘practical reality(實功)’, which is the recognition of moral values through training and study, and the expansion of social good through the philosophical practice of social ideas of moral values. In addition, Yulgok advocates that in Daedong society, people who have fully acquired the right mind realize social good through the four virtues of benevolence, wisdom, and wisdom in the philosophical practice of the social ideology of ‘Deukjunghabui(得中合宜).’ Yulgok believed that the ultimate goal of memoirs was the state of sainthood. As a basis for this, Yulgok suggests that Geukgibokrye is a training study that returns energy to its original state through the method of changing temperament and teaching ability. Yulgok was a social philosopher with an unusually strong will for social reform. In other words, Yulgok insisted on the theory of temporal transformation as the principle of justification for the sutra. The characteristic of the philosophical practice of Yulgok's social thought is that it has a consistent theoretical system from the level of moral cultivation to the solution of social problems and enlightenment. Its academic status can be recognized in that it is a philosophical and practical pioneer of Yulgok's social thoughts and a model. In addition, this is an expression of modern consciousness beyond the limitations of the 16th century, and furthermore, it can be said to be superior in that there are many aspects that can be accepted and applied as a modern transformation of tradition even in the era of the 21st century Open AI metaverse.
