Since 2008, the Ministry of Justice has submitted 3times the revised bill of insurance contract law to the National Assembly, but the act was amended in 2014. The reformed law comes into force as from 12 march 2015. The insurance contract law was amended in 1991, therefore we must admit that the economic and social situation has largely changed thereafter. This act has to make confirmity with the present market situation. And goal of this amendment focused on enhancing consumer protection and harmonizing insurance industries with the policy holders. The significance of this reform is never not small. Especially the new law provided the powers of insurance agent. But it is hard to say that the goal of reform of insurance contract law was realized sufficiently. Many important issues were not revised because the stakeholders opposed to legislation. The writer reviewed the each revised articles and emphasized the additional reform of the act to achieve the modernization of insurance contract law.
