『알 아흐람(al-’Ahrām)』과 『알 두스투르(al-Dustūr)』 뉴스 텍스트의 언어학적 특징 비교 연구

지금까지 아랍 세계 대표적 일간지인 이집트의 『알 아흐람』과 요르단의 『알 두스투르』 뉴스 텍스트의 언어학적 특징에 대해 살펴 보았다. 두 신문 뉴스 텍스트의 언어학적 특징을 통사-구문론의 층위에서 살펴 보자면 보다 단순화 된 문체를 사용하고 있으며, 뉴스 헤드라인의 경우 명사문이나 명사구의 사용이 선호된다. 수동태 문장의 경우 فُعِلَ 형태의 동사 이외 تمّ+ 동명사 구조를 활용하여 표현하는 경향이 높다. 또한 영어의 'It is.. that'의 표현을 차용하여 아랍어 전치사 من+수동 분사를 활용한 명사절이 많이 사용된다. 동사구 보다 명사구의 사용이 선호되며, 상태문의 빈번한 사용이 특징적이다. 어휘-의미론의 층위에서는 영어 등의 영향으로 ‘다시(again)’라는 의미의 접두어 're'를 가지고 있는 동사는 아랍어의 ‘돌아오게 하다’라는 의미를 가진 동사 أعاد와 적절한 동명사를 합쳐 표현한다. 'non-, in-'등의 부정사들은 아랍어의 عدم + 동명사의 형태로, 잘못된 행위나 상태는 سوء + 동명사 형태로 사용된다. 영어에서 관용적으로 사용되는 표현들이 아랍어에서 그대로 번역 차용되어 사용되는 경우도 있다. 뉴스 아랍어의 또 다른 특징은 과학과 문명의 발달로 인한 지속적인 사회 언어적 변화를 수용하기 위해 대응하는 과정에서 새로운 문물을 표현하기 위한 적합한 아랍어 단어를 만들어낸다는 것이다. 본 연구에서는 ‘파생’, ‘은유’, ‘아랍어화’를 통한 신조어들이 많이 사용되는 것을 알 수 있었다. 두 신문 모두 아랍 세계 뉴스, 지식층의 여론 및 다양한 이슈들을 현대표준아랍어로 보도하고 있다는 점에서 통사, 구문, 어휘, 의미적 층위에서 많은 공통점을 보여주고 있으나, 일부 어휘에서 함자의 표기 방식과 외래어 표기에서 미세한 차이점을 보여주고 있다. 『알 두스투르』보다는 『알 아흐람』의 뉴스 텍스트에서 외래어를 많이 사용하고 있음을 알 수 있는데, 이 것은 이집트의 사회언어학적 특징과 과거 서구 식민 지배에 따른 역사적인 배경에 기인하는 것으로 분석할 수 있다. 본 연구를 통해 현대표준아랍어의 표본으로 간주되는 뉴스 아랍어 역시 완전한 문어체아랍어의 특징만을 보여주는 것이 아니라 구어체아랍어의 특징을 보여주고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 최근 의사소통 능력 향상을 위한 아랍어 교육에서 사회언어학적 접근법이 관심을 모으고 있음을 감안 할 때 뉴스 아랍어의 특징들을 함께 교육한다면 보다 효율적인 아랍어 학습이 이루어질 것으로 사료된다. 본 연구는 아랍 세계의 미디어 매체 중 문어적 미디어의 대표 신문을 대상으로 하였다는 한계가 있다. 향후 구어적 미디어 매체를 대표하는 카타르 위성 방송 『알 자지라』와, 아랍에미리트의 『알 아라비야』에 대한 후속 연구에서 미디어 아랍어의 전반적인 특징과 이러한 특징들이 현대표준아랍어의 발전에 미친 영향에 대한 총체적 규명이 이루어질 것으로 기대한다.
Abstract
This research aims to analyze the linguistic features of the news texts of『al-'Ahrām』and『al-Dustūr』in terms of the syntax, semantics, vocabulary, vocabulary coinage as a typical language of modern Arab society. Given the Arabic variants used in the Arab world currently, the media news Arabic is considered a specimen of modern-standard Arabic. In many countries, the language used for news reporting is considered standard language. Therefore, it is meaningful to study the effects of the media Arabic in modern standard Arabic development in terms of phonology, syntax, morphology, vocabulary and semantics through the linguistic analysis of media Arabic language considered as a specimen of modern standard Arabic. In this study, the Arab media are divided into two regions in sequence, and the analysis is conducted in the Egyptian daily newspaper『al-'Ahrām』, Jordan's newspaper『al-Dustūr』, Qatari satellite broadcast『al-Jazīrah』, and the Arab Emirate’s『al-‘Arabiyyah』which are regarded as representative media in the Arab region. In this article, we will analyze the linguistic features of news Arabic focusing on『al-'Ahrām』and『al-Dustūr』, which are representative daily newspapers not only in Egypt and Jordan and also in the whole Arab world. Since its foundation on December 7, 1875,『al-'Ahrām』has been regarded as one of the most influential media in the Arab world as well as in Egypt. In addition to the original version published in Egypt, there are versions for Arabic and international subscribers. As for『al-Dustūr』, it is the oldest and one of the largest journals in Jordan founded in March 1967, reporting on Arab and world news, public opinion and various issues in modern standard Arabic. In this study, we will look at the overview of『al-'Ahrām』and『al-Dustūr』and analyze the linguistic features of the news texts in terms of syntax, semantics, vocabulary, and coinage. And also we will study the effects of the linguistic features of『al-'Ahrām』and『al-Dustūr』on the development of modern standard Arabic.
