지구촌 시대의 존재사건과 통합적 시각의 필요성

나는 이 논문에서 하이데거가 이야기한 원자[력] 시대가 아닌 정보[화] 시대인 오늘날 어떤 존재사건이 전개되고 있으며 이때에 철학자 또는 사유자의 역할은 무엇인지를 살펴보았다. 먼저 하이데거가 “존재사건”으로서 무엇을 의미하는지 기술하고 우리가 사는 현대에서는 어떤 존재사건이 펼쳐지고 있는지를 논의하였다. 그리고 그런 달라진 존재상황에서 존재사건에 응답하며 살아야 하는 본래적인 인간의 삶의 방식은 어떠해야 하는지를 고찰하였다. 그 다음 구체적으로 정보[화] 시대인 현대에서 어떤 존재사건이 전개되고 있는지를 “매체의 혁명과 존재의 변혁”이라는 주제 아래 살펴보았다. 여기서 대표적인 미디어사상가인 마셜 맥루언과 빌렘 플루서를 문화기술의 변화와 그에 따른 사유와 존재의 변혁이라는 주제 아래 고찰하였다. 마지막으로 지구촌 시대의 달라진 세계 지평이 요구하는 통합적 시각이 무엇인지를 논의하였다. 에드워드 윌슨의 “통섭”과 켄 윌버의 “통합”을 비교하여 고찰하면서 하이데거의 시각에서는 어떤 통합적 시각이 제시될 수 있는지를 살펴보았다.
Abstract
In this paper, I examined what kind of happening of Being is developing in this information age, which is not the atomic age as Heidegger referred to, and what the role is for a philosopher or a thinker in such an age. First, I described what Heidegger means by ‘happening of Being’ and discussed what kind of happening of Being is developing in the modern age. Then I examined what way of life human beings should follow in order to respond to the happening of Being in the changed situation of Being. The question of what kind of happening of Being is developing in this information age was examined with the theme of ‘the revolution of media and the radical change of existence’. Here, media thinkers such as M. McLuhan and V. Flusser were analyzed with the theme of the change in cultural technology and the concurrent change in thought and Being. Finally, I discussed what kind of integrated view might be required by the changing scene of the global village. The notion of ‘consilience’ by E. Wilson and the notion of ‘integration’ by K. Wilber were compared and a new kind of integrated view from the perspective of Heidegger was suggested.
