딜타이의 칸트 인식론 비판

초록

빌헬름 딜타이는 자신의 학문적 최대의 과업을 「역사이성비판(Texte zur Kritik der historischen Vernunft)」(1877)을 기획하는데 있었다. 특히 그가 정신과학의 정초를 세우고자 했던 역사이성비판은 평생의 과제로 삼았던 중심체계였다. 즉, 딜타이는 역사이성비판을 통해 역사적이며 상대적인 이성이 지닌 객관적이며 보편적인 능력을 찾아내고자 했다. 그래서 그는 정신과학의 근거를 위한 광범위한 자료를 『정신과학 입문』(1883)에서 제시했다. 이런 측면에서 딜타이의 정신과학의 대상은 인간적-사회적-역사적 현실에 초점을 맞추었다. 특히 딜타이는 철학사와 영국과 프랑스의 실증적 사회학과 정신과학의 인식론을 재정립했다. 특히 딜타이는 전통적인 인식론과 대비하여 자기성찰(Selbstbesinnung)을 분석한다. 필자가 보기에 딜타이는 자기성찰을 통해 의식의 사실과 삶의 전체적인 요소의 연관들에 대해 심층적으로 분석했다. 이런 측면에서 딜타이는 의식의 사실에서 사유하는 것뿐만 아니라 행위 하는 삶 속에서 실천해 나간다. 따라서 필자는 칸트가 강조하고 있는 의식의 사실이라는 인식론적 관점에 주목하면서, 딜타이의 「역사이성비판기획」을 비롯한 딜타이 많은 저서에 드러난 칸트의 인식론을 비판적으로 고찰하고자 한다.

Abstract

Wilhelm Dilthey's greatest academic work is considered to be "Texte zur Kritik der historischen Vernunft" (1877). Dilthey intended to establish criticism of historical reason as the basis of psychiatry, and it became the central system of his life-long task. In doing so, Dilthey tried to find the objective and universal ability of relative reason through his criticism of historical reason, and presented extensive data relating to the basis of psychiatry in "Einleitung in die Geistswissenschaften" (1883). In this respect, the object of Dilthey's psychology focused on human social-historical reality. In particular, Dilthey attempted to redefine the history of philosophy and the epistemology of empirical sociology and psychiatry in England and France by analyzing Selbstbesinnung against traditional epistemologies. My perspective is that Dilthey analyzes the connection between facts of consciousness and whole elements of life through self-reflection, not only by thinking about those facts but also by considering the life of action. Accordingly, I intend to critically examine Kant's epistemology, as reflected in many of Dilthey's works including "Trial Criticism," by focusing on the epistemological point of view that Kant emphasizes.
