Abstract
This article attempts to demonstrate as to why Heidegger has paid special attention to Parmanides (especially in his books Lectures and Theses and Identity and Difference). This article argues that Parmenides, according to Heidegger’s hermeneutics, has thought upon that which is worth-thinking as follows: 1. Eon, being that is duplicity of being and things that exist. 2. ‘Identity’, The primal relevance of thinking and being. In other words, the ‘belong-togetherness’ of [thinking and being]. 3. ‘Belong-to-ness’ defines ‘belong-togetherness’. ‘Thinking’ belongs to ‘being’ in the sense that it is revealed to or stands before or respond or relates to, or entrusts, or listens to ‘being’. 4. ‘Thinking belongs to being’, that is, thinking’s attribution to being, the riddle of Eon, the duplicity of being demands human thinking. 5. ‘Thinking’ emerges from ‘being’. In other words, being reveals itself to thinking. 6. There in duplicity itself can be found the dimension of ‘saying’ which is, in fact, nothing but ‘aletheia’, ‘revealing’ as ‘shinning forth’, no other than phenomena (revealing) of ‘truth’. 7. ‘Thinking’ and ‘being’ are not something that are set up against each other as two independent entities; rather in the very process of ‘unfolding’/ ‘revealing’ of the duplicity of being there inherently is ‘thinking’. 8. On the ‘Moira’[the fatal genesis of the duplicity] whose characteristic lies in ‘sharing’ by means of giving and distributing reveals the duplicity [Eon]. 9. Humans and being reach the essence through En-owning(Ereignis). In other words, ‘En-owning’ makes intrinsic identity of being and thinking (that is, ‘belonging-to-each-other-ness’) possible. 10. The lack of duplicity, that is, the concealed part of being. In other words, the duplicity itself and together with its unfolding are concealed. The very self-concealment of the duplicity is inherent in ‘revealing’.
