Abstract

Before and after Japanese colonial era, Japanese ancient historians worked to deny Dangun Jeonseung and Gojoseon history as part of the distortion of Korean history. It denied the transmission of Dangun as a founding myth, and it was recorded in the Goryeo Dynasty by weaving a kind of oral tradition or created in the later period. We have identified the theory of Dangun legend claimed by representative Japanese historians around Japanese colonial era, Kurakichi Shiratori, Hiroyuki Miura, Toru Takahashi, Shogo Oda, Iwakichi Inaba, Nanmei Aoyagi, and Ryu Imanishi. The Dangun legend they say was created by Ilyeon, a monk of the Goryeo Dynasty, by recording the absurd legend of the time. On the other hand, the myth of Qi, which was conveyed in Japan, was considered to reflect the history of the Japanese royal family and each region at the time as a founding myth of Japan. The device myth was believed to be true in terms of records of people's thoughts, beliefs, customs, habits, and political conditions at the time of formation. The founding myth is a myth that conveys the process of establishing a country. Japanese scholars used the expression "the founding myth" for their country's transmission, because they considered the existence of myths in the first half of the 20th century to be a measure of civilization. In Dangunjeon, several elements of the founding myth of the general ancient Korean state are seen. Dangun Jeonseung has the completeness of the content by including Dangun's birth, founding and Cheondo, fishing country, last, and lifespan. In addition, there is a question of whether the background of the story is a state, a servant who supports the founder's founding activities appears, and the punishment for governing the country is created. In addition, the founding myth of ancient Korea shows that the main force of national reform is the force of migrants, and the key figure of the main force is moving from the sky or sacred place to a new unexplored place in a more developed cultural environment. Next, the main characters of the founding myth of the ancient state are divine beings and the divine beings who founded the country, and as the last element, the early countries of Korea, which are common in Dangunjeon, show the appearance of an established society in which priests and rulers coincide. The founding mythological elements of Dangun Jeonseung have been studied numerous times. Now, I think it is necessary to promote and distribute it internationally beyond just academic level. If Dangun's victory as a founding myth is accepted at the international level, not just our own discourse, historical distortion in Japan will lose its place.
