근대에 들어와 대방군 연구는 근대 일본인에 의해 본격적으로 시작된다. 시라토리와 세키노 등에 의해 대방군 치소지가 기존 한강 유역에서 황해도 봉산으로 확정된다. 이것은 세키노의 고고학적 발견에 의해 힘입은 바 크다. 삼국사기 기사를 검토하여도 대방군의 위치는 황해도 일원에 있었다고 할 수 있다. 276년 서진은 대방과 낙랑을 나누어 평주에 그 소속을 둔다. 이 같은 사실은 요동군의 축소와 더불어 대방군이 요동으로 이동된 결과임을 보여 준다. 서진 시대 대방군 군현 중 함자는 위서 지형지에 들어가 있어 함자는 요동으로 이동한 함자가 다시 요서로 이동한 사례에 해당한다. 삼국사기에는 대방국과 대방왕의 존재도 확인된다. 漢의 행정군으로서 대방군은 그 흔적만을 남기고 314년에 고구려에 의해 접수된다. 대방은 황해도 대방국과 요동으로 이전한 대방군으로 나누어 있었다고 볼 수 있다. 313년 요동장통은 낙랑과 대방을 거느리고 고구려와 싸웠으나 이기지 못하고 천여 가를 데리고 모용외로 간다. 모용외가 요서 극성지역에 거주하고 있었다는 점을 본다면 요동 대방은 313년 이후 재차 요서로 이동한 것에 해당한다. 결국 대방은 낙랑군의 한 縣으로 황해도에서 시작하여 요동과 요서까지 이동된 것임을 알 수 있다.
Abstract
In 276, Western Jin divided Daifang and Lelang and placed its location in Pingzhou. Daifang moved to Liaodong at this time, and Daifangjunjun, which moved to Liaodong, consists of seven Xian figures, including Daifang, Liekou, Nanxin, Changcen, Tixi, Hanzi, and Haiming. During the Western Jin period, Liaodongjun was reduced to eight Xian counties. The number of households will also be drastically reduced to 5,400. This result shows that along with the reduction of Liaodongjun, the reduced Lelangjun and the increased Daifangjun moved to Liaodong. Among the Daifangjun of the Western Jin period, Hanzi is included in Weishu, so this Hanzi corresponds to a case where Hanzi moved to Liaodong and then moved back to Liaoxi. It is pointed out that in Houhanshu, ChangcenXian is said to be in Liaodong. As for Hunmi, Beishi and Suishu show that Hunmidao is connected to Liaodong, so it can be seen that Hunmi is in Liaodong. The existence of the king of Daifang can also be confirmed in Samgooksagi . As a Han administrative district, Daifangjun was taken over by Goguryeo in 314, leaving only traces of it. Daifang means that it was divided into Daifang country south of Pyeongyang and Daifangjun, which moved to Liaodong. In 313, Liaodong Zhangtong led Lelang and Daifang and fought Goguryeo, but was unable to win and took over a thousand households to Murongwei, where Murongwei installed Lelangjun. Considering that Murongwei was living in the Zicheng area of Liaoxi, Lelang and Daifang of Liaodong moved back to Liaoxi after 313.
