유명한 동요 「자전거」, 「누가누가 잠자나」를 창작했던 목일신은 1930년대에 가장 왕성하게 활동한 아동문학가이다. 그러나 그동안 그의 동요에 대한 연구는 거의 이루어지지 않았다. 전해지고 있는 작품이 많지않았기 때문이다. 이번에 어렵게 찾아낸 그의 동요는 총 98편이다. 이작품들을 표현 대상별로 분류하면 생활중심 「자전거」형 동요, 자연 중심「비누방울」형 동요, 공존 중심「누가누가 잠자나」형 동요로 나눌 수 있다. 목일신 동요의 특징은 첫째 명랑하고 건강한 내용, 둘째 의성어, 의태어의 빈번한 사용, 셋째 자장가 형태의 동요가 다수, 넷째 독특한 시행 배열을 시도하였다는 것이다. 목일신은 주로 명랑한 내용의 동요를 쓴 아동문학가로 평가 받아야 할 것이다.
Abstract
Mok Il Shin, who composed famous children's song Ja-Joeng-Goe,Nuga Nuga jamjana, was a writer of children's literature who worked very actively in 1930s. However, there was only few research of his children's song. It is because most of his songs have not been passed down today. In a hard way I have found 98 songs composed by him. They are classified by the object of description: a type of Ja-Joeng-Goewhich is focusing the life, a type of Binubangul which is focusing the nature and a type of Nuga Nuga jamjana which is focusing the coexistence. containing the cheerful and healthy contents is the first characteristic of his children's songs. frequent use of onomatopoeic word and mimetic word is another character of them. And most of his works have form of candle song. Also he like to use his special arrangement of the line. He should be evaluated as a writer of children's literature who wrote children's songs which have the cheerful contents
