본 연구의 목적은 인재를 소재로 한 동화를 분석하여 특징을 파악하고, 인재 동화의 의의를 찾는 것이다. 이를 위해 2020년 이후 발행된 창작동화 3편을 선정하여 서사 구조, 인물 구성, 주제 의식 등을 중점적으로 분석하였다. 인재 동화의 특징은 ① 어린이 주인공이 주체적으로 사고한다. ② 주인공의 성장 배경에는 주인공과 등장인물 간의 체계적인 역할 관계가 뒷받침하고 있다. ③ 관련 인물의 마음을 깊게 살펴봄으로써 독자의 공감을 불러일으킨다는 점이다. 인재 동화의 의의는 어린이 독자가 인재 사고를 스스로 판단하고, 아픔을 기억하면서, 같은 일이 반복되지 않도록 노력하는 주체적인 어린이로 성장하는 데 도움을 주는 것이다. 본 연구는 최근 인재 동화의 필요성이 대두되고, 작가와 독자가 늘어나고 있는 시점에서, 인재 동화 전반에 관한 심층적인 분석과 연구를 위한 출발이라는 점에서 의의가 있다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze children’s literature on human-caused disasters in order to identify its characteristics and to explore the significance of such literature. Three Korean children’s literature works published after 2020 were selected for a focused analysis of their narrative structure, character development, and thematic concerns. The characteristics of children’s literature on human-caused disasters include: ① The child protagonist engages in independent thinking. ② The protagonist’s developmental trajectory is supported by a systematic network of roles among the protagonist and other characters. ③ By closely examining the inner lives of related characters, the narrative evokes empathy from the reader. The significance of children’s literature on human-caused disasters lies in its ability to help young readers develop into autonomous individuals who can independently assess human-caused disasters, remember the associated suffering, and strive to prevent similar events from recurring. This study is significant as it marks a starting point for in-depth analysis and research on children’s literature on human-caused disasters, at a time when the need for such literature has emerged and both authors and readers are increasing.
