1930년대 초,중반에는 아동문학에서도 사실적 작품이 대거 발표되면서 소년소설에서 리얼리즘의 경향이 나타나게 된다. 특히 KAPF 결성 이후 민중(민족)의 삶을 계급주의적 시각으로 관찰하게 되면서 프롤레타리아 문예의 특징이 두드러진다. 이번 논의에서는 이 시기에 발표된 소년소설을 고찰하면서 리얼리즘의 경향과 성과를 탐색함과 동시에 문예이념 형성의 인과관계를 시대적 배경에 의거하여 분석하게 된다. 1930년대 초,중반기는 일제 식민지배의 강화로 농촌의 많은 사람들이 가난과 궁핍으로 내몰리던 시대였다. 특히 동양척식회사의 토지수탈이 극심해지자 고향을 버리고, 삶의 터전에서 떠나는 이주가 대거 일어났다. 그 결과 많은 민중들이 타관에서 디아스포라의 삶을 살게 된다. 이 시기 소년소설에서는 이와 같은 현실의 양상을 중요한 제재로 삼았고, 리얼리즘적 현실을 서사의 전면에 드러냈다. 따라서 이 시기 소년소설은 농촌의 실상을 있는 그대로 드러내면서 시대상을 알게 함으로 리얼리즘 형성의 중요한 역할을 담당하게 된다. 또 다수의 카프 문예 작가들은 농촌 빈곤의 실정과 원인을 프로문학의 창작 방법에 입각하여 서사화하여 발표했다. 뿐만 아니라 노동 현장에서 일어나는 다양한 문제와 쟁의 모습을 전면에 드러내 프롤레타리아 문학의 전형을 보여주게 된다. 1930년대 소년소설은 농촌의 빈곤 현실과 노동 및 경제문제까지 다루면서 소년문학에서 리얼리즘 소설의 경향을 구축할 수 있었고, 문예의 지평을 확장하는 결과를 가져오게 되었다. 1930년대 소년소설의 경향은 당시의 소년 문예 작품을 통해 시대상을 드러냈고, 동시에 한국 아동문학에서 리얼리즘 문학이 형성되는 과정을 보여주었다.
Abstract
The primary purpose of this paper is to explore the trends of realism in children's novels from the 1930s. In the early and mid-1930s, a large number of realistic children's literature works were published, and a trend toward realism appeared in children's novels. As KAPF was formed, the characteristics of proletarian literature became more prominent as the lives of the people (nation) were observed from a classist perspective. In this discussion, we will examine the trends in juvenile novels published during this period, explore the formation and achievements of realism, and analyze the causal relationship of the formation of realism based on the historical background. The early to mid-1930s was a time when many people in rural areas were driven into poverty and destitution due to the strengthening of Japanese colonial rule. In particular, the land expropriation by the Oriental Development Company led to a large-scale migration of people who abandoned their hometowns and their livelihoods, and as a result, many people ended up living in a diaspora in other countries. Many KAPF literary writers narrate and present the reality and causes of rural poverty based on the creative methods of professional literature. The realism in children's novels that emerged during this period revealed the reality of rural life as it was, thereby revealing the spirit of the times. And it also revealed in detail the various problems and disputes that occur in the workplace, resulting in a narrative of labor and economic issues. The juvenile novels of the 1930s revealed the spirit of the times through juvenile literary works of the time. And it also became an opportunity for the formation of realistic literature in Korean children's literature.
