21세기는 산업시대에서 문화와 감성의 시대가 될 것이라는 사학자들의 예견대로, 대중들은 문화의 욕구가 과거 어느 때보다 커지고 있으며 이를 수용하듯, 국가와 지역사회 차원에서 대중들이 다양한 문화예술 프로그램을 접할 수 있도록 기회를 확대하고 있는 추세에 있다. 이러한 흐름에 맞춰 박물관과 미술관은 수집(Collection)․보존(Conservation)․연구(Research)․전시(Exhibition)․교육의 기능 중, 교육의 기능을 강화하여 관람자들에게 공공 사회교육의 장으로 그 역할을 하고 있다. 박물관의 전시는 소장품을 주요한 문화유산으로서 유물의 존재와 의미를 드러내 준다는 점이 있다면 박물관의 교육은 이들에 대해 구체적으로 이해 할 수 있는 통로를 열어주는 목적을 하는 것이다. 박물관의 소장품 중 특히 도자는 세계적으로 그 우수성과 그 가치가 인정되었을 뿐만 아니라 현재 많은 국공립․사립 박물관과 미술관에 다량의 소장품이 있으며, 이는 도자교육 프로그램을 통해 관람객과 소장품간의 관계를 형성 시킬 수 있다. 이 논문은 도자유물이 소장된 박물관과 미술관을 대상으로 도자교육프로그램 개발 연구를 하고자 한다. 박물관․미술관의 역할과 그 교육의 중요성을 알고 현재 박물관 미술관내 도자교육프로그램의 실태를 분석해 보며 앞으로 교육 프로그램 방안에 대해 제시하였다. 박물관은 도자교육프로그램의 다양성을 갖고 꾸준히 개발․연구를 통해, 관람객들로 하여금 한국 전통 도자를 바로 알고 나아가 문화의 정체성을 깨닫고 한국 고유문화를 회복할 수 있도록 해야 할 것을 밝히는 바이다.
Abstract
As historians has expected, the time of the 21stcentury overviews the transition from the age of industry to the age of culture and sense. People show growing surge of energy for culture than ever before, and local communities and a government are increasingly preparing chances where the general people can experience and enjoy a variety of culture programs. Accordingly, the current museums and art galleries are focusing more on their new jobs, the role of educating publics rather than their old jobs such as collection, conservation, research and exhibition. They are positioning themselves as public educational places for publics. The ‘exhibition in a museum’ is meaningful in that it presents important cultural inheritances and conveys their meaning. On the other hand, the ‘education in a museum’ plays a role to open a gateway for publics to understand them well. In Korea, among museums’ collection, especially ceramics have been recognized world wide as the best in qualities and historical values; besides, many ceramic - heritages are being conserved and managed by the institutions of national, public and private museums. This thesis will cover the subject of developing and studying Ceramic Education Program for museums that have many ceramic heritages. After understanding the role of museums and the importance of museums education program. I analyzed the realities of contemporary Ceramic Education Programs being operated in the museums and art galleries ; furthermore , I proposed a way to activate the ceramic education program in museums in future. I emphasized that by developing and studying a new ceramic education program with variousness continuosly in museums we should make visitors acknowledge the essences of Korea traditional ceramics rightly; in addition, we should make great efforts to restore our identity of culture and to recognize the culture native to Korea.
