이 연구에서는 대학생들의 쓰기 동기 구성요인을 분석하였다. 자연과학 글쓰기와 인문사회과학 글쓰기에 수강중인 380명의 대학생을 대상으로 설문지를 내어주고, 설문 조사 결과를 베리맥스 회전법을 이용하여 구성요인을 분석하였다. 그 결과 쓰기 효능감, 경쟁적 보상 심리, 협력적 상호작용, 과제 해결의지라는 네 개의 동기를 확인할 수 있었다. 설명 변량 및 고윳값 크기에 따라 ‘쓰기 효능감 > 경쟁적 보상 심리 > 협력적 상호작용 지향 > 과제 해결의지’의 순서로 나타나고 있음을 입증하였다. 성별 차이로는 남학생의 경우 과제 해결력이 여학생보다 높았으며, 여학생은 경쟁적 보상 심리가 남학생보다 높게 나타났다. 계열별 차이는 나타나지 않았다. 글쓰기 강좌 수강 나이에 따른 차이 검정을 해 본 결과, 고등학교 졸업 후 곧바로 대학에 진학한 학생보다 나이가 더 많은 학생들이 과제 해결의지에서 앞선 것으로 나타났다. 이 연구에서 나타난 결과를 바탕으로 쓰기 교재 구성과 교수 방법 마련이 있어야 할 것이다.
Abstract
In this paper, writing motivation of university students have been analyzed. The questionnaires have been responded by 380 students which were from 9 departments were analyzed by means of Varimax rotation analysis included in SPSS version 12.02 in Korean. According to this analysis, four factors were expounded：writing self-efficacy, competitive reward, cooperative interaction, volition for resolution of task. The most prominent factor of them was writing self-efficacy which has 20.647% explanation of total variance of writing motivation. Conclusionally, the factors have 58.423% explanation of total variance of the writing motivation. In the first t-test between male students and female students, it is proved that female students gain more scores than male students in competitive reward, but there was reversion in the case of volition for resolution of task. In the second t-test, two groups of students belong to humanities and social science affiliate or natural science affiliate shows no difference with regard to four factors. Finally the difference of entering age was tested. It was revealed that the difference of entering writing course age results in the difference of writing motivation of volition for resolution of task. That is, the construct scores were gained more by elder students than younger ones. No differences were found in the other factors. These findings might be reflected in the course design as well as developing text and teaching methods.
