민간 항공기산업의 전략적 제휴 동기에 관한 연구

본 논문은 첨단기술산업인 민간 항공기산업에 있어서 전략적 제휴의 동기(motive)에 대해 J.Hagedoorn(1993)과 비교하였다. J.Hagedoorn은 항공기/방위산업에 있어서의 전략적 제휴 동기를 높은 비용과 위험, 기술보완성, 기술개발기간 단축, 그리고 시장접근/구조 순서로 중요성을 나열하였다. 그러나 민간 항공기산업을 대상으로 한 본 연구의 결과는 시장접근/구조, 높은 비용과 위험요소가 전략적 제휴의 핵심적 동기요인으로 분석되었다. 따라서 범세계적 차원에서 규모의 경제 도달 및 독과점적 성격이 높은 산업의 경우, 제휴 동기에 대한 기존 연구 결론의 수정이 필요하다. 추가적으로 본 연구는 상대적으로 높은 투자비용과 높은 글로벌 경쟁강도가 요구되는 산업은 시장접근/구조가 선호되는 반면, 상대적으로 적은 투자비용과 경쟁강도가 낮은 산업은 기술보완성을 위한 제휴가 선호된다는 결론을 도출하였다.
Abstract
Firms utilize strategic alliance increasing for their capability. J.Hagedoorn(1993) concluded that high cost/risk, technology complementarity, reduction of innovation time span and market access/structure factors are the key motives of strategic alliance in aircraft industry include defence industry. But this study showed that market access/structure and high cost/risk are the core factors for the motives of strategic alliance in civil aircraft industry. Additionally, this study results in that larger investment programs and higher global competitions prefer market access/structure(JV alliance) motive, but smaller investment programs and lower golbal competitions have an tendency to technology complementarity(R&D alliance) motive.
