중국 진출기업의 투자국 다각화 결정요인 분석

본 연구는 통계청의 ‘기업활동조사’ 자료를 활용해 대중국 투자환경 악화로 인한 중국진출 기업들의 투자국 변화와 최근 중국투자의 특징을 살펴보고 그 결정요인을 분석한다. 산업수준에서 중국과 동남아투자는 대체관계로 보이지만, 기업수준의 분석 결과는 생산성이 높은 중국투자 기업들의 동남아 투자 확대가 최근 동남아투자 증가의 주요 원인으로 나타났다. 반면, 생산성이 낮은 중국투자 기업들은 중국내 투자를 축소하는 양극화를 보이고 있다. 또한 중국투자는 점점 생산성이 높고 연구개발이 활발한 고부가가치산업에 속한 기업들로 재편되고 있다. 이러한 결과는 향후 아시아지역 투자방향을 결정하는 데에 중요한 기초자료가 될 것이다.
Abstract
Recently, because investment environment in China is worse off due to political and economic reasons, Korean multinational enterprises in China are seeking for other countries for Investment. Reflecting that situation, this research empirically analyzed investment decision of Korean multinational enterprises in China by using a unique Korean firm-level data Survey of Business Activities by Statistics Korea. The empirical findings are summarized as follows. First, high-productive firms invested in China diversify their investment location toward South-East Asian countries while low-productive firms do not. Second, the Korean firms invested in Chinese industries that are highly R&D intensive and related to high value-added.
