기존의 미시경제학이 각 젠더의 입장을 충분히 대변하지 못한다는 지적은 그간 꾸준히 제기되었다. 이 문제를 해결하기 위한 다양한 학문적 노력에도 현재까지 대안적 프레임이 등장하지 못하고 있는 것이 학계의 현실이다. 이는 무엇보다 중성화된 경제적 인간을 기준으로 중성화된 시장, 중성화된 기업에 대해 객관적이라고 판단되는 수학적 도구로 논리 전개를 하는 미시경제학의 학문성에 연유한다. 이러한 배경에서 본 연구는 성 인지적(gender-aware) 시각에서 미시경제학 근간을 재해석하는 목적으로 이루어졌다. 이를 통해 성 인지적 관점을 미시경제학에 착근시키는 방안을 모색한다. 연구의 내용은 미시경제학에 등장하는 경제학 프레임들의 의미와 한계를 성 인지적인 관점에서 분석하는 것이다. 분석의 순서는 다음과 같다. 먼저 신고전학파 미시경제학의 가정을 성 인지적 관점에서 검증한다. 다음으로, 논리적 정합성과 가치 중립적이라고 여겨지는 미시경제모형의 성 중립성 문제를 수요와 공급 개념과 모형의 전개과정을 통해 살펴본다. 또한, 미시경제학에 가계 분석이 포함되지 않는 이유와 문제점을 지적한 후에 가계를 소비주체로만 인정하는 기존 미시경제학의 성 편향성을 살펴본다. 마지막으로 성 인지적 관점에서 미시경제를 해석할 방안과 사례를 제시한다.
Abstract
This study attempted to reconstruct what constitutes the micro-economy and tried to do offer ideas for engendering microeconomics. Microeconomics is a branch of economics that studies the behavior of how the household and firms make decisions to allocate limited resources. Gender economics is a dynamic and evolving field of intellectual inquiry that challenges traditional economic theory, uniquely situated at the intersection of economics and gender. Gender economics is re-conceptualizing what economics is, what methodologies are appropriate for gender-aware research in economics. The study focuses on some central issues in microeconomics and poses the question of how microeconomics may benefit from gender economics in dealing with these issues. In microeconomics in general the conceptualisation of fundamental concepts such as the economic agent, intra-household production and distribution, gender-relations and gender must be addressed. Above all gender is recognized a fundamental organizing principle of economic life. Microeconomics can help gender economics to become more aware of the economic reality. This paper examines gender in a microeconomic framework and the problem of traditional microeconomics. As discussed below, much of this study relates to critiquing specific aspects of microeconomic theories and their attendant prospective and to identifying the gender biases in economy.
