전공선택동기가 취업준비행동에 미치는 영향 - 항공서비스전공 대학생의 경우 -

본 연구는 항공서비스전공 대학생들의 전공선택동기가 자신의 전공만족, 취업준비행동, 직업선택에 미치는 영향관계를 확인하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 먼저 문헌연구를 통해서 각 요인들 간의 영향관계를 확인하고자 하였고, 그 결과에 기반하여 연구가설을 설정하고 실증조사를 통하여 가설을 검증하고자 하였다. 실증조사는 설문지방법을 활용하여 경기도 소재 대학의 항공서비스전공 대학생 250명을 대상으로 실시하였다. 실증조사의 결과는 다음과 같이 나타났다. 첫째, 전공선택동기는 전공만족에 정의 영향을 미친다. 둘째, 전공선택동기 가운데 개인적 동기만이 취업준비행동과 직업선택에 정의 영향을 미친다. 셋째, 전공만족은 취업준비행동과 직업선택에 정의 영향을 미친다. 실증조사의 결과는 전공 선택에 있어서 특히 개인적 동기가 중요함을 나타내고 있으며, 전공만족이 취업준비행동과 직업선택에 의미 있는 영향을 미치는 것을 나타내고 있다. 따라서 학생 차원에서는 개인적 동기에 따른 전공 선택이 이루어질 수 있도록 관리해야 하고, 또 학교 차원에서는 전공만족을 높일 수 있는 방안에 대한 적극적 모색이 요청된다.
Abstract
This research identifies the influence of major selection motive on major satisfaction, employment preparation behavior and the career selection in case of airline service major students in universities. For this, we conducted survey for students who are majoring airline service in universities and analyzed the data using SPSS 20.0. As a result of the research, first, both personal and social motive of one’s major selection had positive influence on major satisfaction. Second, the individual motive influences the major selection motive and employment preparation behavior while the social motive doesn’t affect them substantially. Third, the more satisfied they are with their major, the much influence they get regarding the employment preparation behavior. That is the result consistent with that of the prior various studies and confirms the importance of students’ satisfaction about the major. The implication of this study is that the individual motives affects the satisfaction about their major, employment preparation behavior and career selection more than the social motives. University students eventually understand they themselves have to do their best to select the right career and more. Through this result of empirical analysis, students can be recognized the importance of career selection motives based on the understanding of their individual characteristics, major and career, while the department can find the means to increase students’ satisfaction about the major and enhance the employment preparation behavior and provide the academic and practical materials to operate the department effectively and hopefully help raise employment rate.
