초록
이 논문은 17세기 유럽과 동남아 수출 중국 무역도자 연구를 목적으로 한 것이다. 이를 위 해 먼저 명대 이후 중국 무역도자의 배경과 전개를 간단히 살펴보고 17세기 무역도자의 생산과 무역의 주체, 무역도자 양상의 변천 과정을 고찰하였다. 무역도자의 생산은 경덕진 주변의 민 요와 복건성의 가마들이 주요한 역할을 하였고, 유럽과 동남아까지의 그릇 운송과 무역의 주관 은 네델란드 동인도회사가 그 역할을 하였음을 기존의 연구와 최근 발견된 침몰선 관련 자료를 통해 검토하였다. 다음 무역도자의 양식은 17세기 전반 유럽의 정물화에 나타난 청화백자, 유럽과 동남아 해 상 무역로 상의 침몰선 속에서 인양된 청화백자, 복건성 장주요 출토 청화백자와 오채자기 등을 참고하여 분석하였다. 이를 통해 무역 자기는 유럽 수요층들을 위해 제작된 klapmut와 커피포 트 같은 유럽 수출용 그릇, 접시와 완, 발과 같은 전통적인 중국 그릇과, 중국 전통 그릇에 수요 층의 요구에 따른 유럽의 문장(紋章)이나 글을 써 넣은 것 등을 확인하였다. 또한 구연부를 구획 하고 연지수금이나 각종 당초문과 산수문, 길상문등을 독립적으로 배치한 크락 양식, 윤곽선 없 이 다양한 문양들을 간략히 시문한 명말청초 양식, 보다 정제되고 회화적인 청대 강희 양식과 독특한 장주요 양식 등이 17세기 중국 무역도자의 주요 양식임을 논의하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of this thesis is to investigate the Chinese trade ceramics for Europe and Southeast Asia market in the 17th century. First of all, I surveyed the production background and the process of trade ceramics in the Ming dynasty. The private kilns in Jindezhen and Fujian were prime production sites to take great roles in trade. They replaced the Imperial kiln in Jindezhen because of the social and political turmoils during the late Ming and early Ching dynasty. And the Netherlands East India Company(V.O.C) succeeding the Portugal was charged with the transport and the trading of Chinese ceramics for the Europe and Southeast Asia markets. Next I analyzed the style of the trade ceramics making reference to the following data: european still life paintings of the 17th century, blue and white porcelain from the sunken ship on the trade sea route and the excavated porcelains from Zhangzhou kiln in Fujian. The trade ceramics were divided into several groups. The first is european vessels such as klapmuts and coffee pots for Europe market. The second is Chinese traditional vessels with european designs for Europe market. The third is Chinese traditional dishes, bowls and kundika for Southeast Asia market. Finally I discussed the Kraak style with divided spaces, late Ming and early Ching style without outline, more refined and painterly Kangxi style and special Zhangzhou style.
