COVID-19 상황에서 충남지역 대학생들이 지각하는 진로장벽과 진로만족의 관계 : 진로불확실성 스트레스의 매개효과와 회복탄력성의 조절효과

초록

본 연구는 대학생을 대상으로 COVID-19상황에서 대학생들이 인식하는 진로장벽과 진로만족의 관계에서 진로불학실성 스트레스의 매개역할과 회복탄력성의 상호작용효과를 규명하였다. 충청남도 소재 3개 대학의 대학생을 대상으로 한 실증분석 결과, 첫째, 내적 진로장벽은 진로만족에 부(-)의 영향을 주었다. 즉, 대학생들이 지각하는 높은 내적 진로장벽은 진로만족을 감소시키는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 외적 진로장벽은 진로만족에 별다른 영향을 주지 않았다. 둘째, 내적 및 외적 진로장벽 모두 진로불확실성 스트레스에 정(+)의 영향을 주었다. 즉, 높은 내적 및 외적 진로장벽은 대학생들의 진로불확실성 스트레스를 높이는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 내적 진로장벽과 진로만족의 관계에서 진로불확실성 스트레스의 매개역할이 규명되었다. 그러나 진로불확실성 스트레스는 외적 진로장벽과 진로만족의 관계에서는 매개역할이 규명되지 않았다. 마지막으로 진로장벽(내적, 외적)과 진로만족의 관계에서 회복탄력성의 조절역할을 실증하였다. 대학생들이 평상시 지각하는 진로장벽이 아닌 코로나19와 같이 예기치 않는 불확실한 상황에서 인식하는 진로장벽은 진로만족에 미치는 메커니즘을 체계적으로 규명하여 위기상황에서 대학생들의 진로만족을 제고하기 위한 방안을 제공했다는 데에 의의가 있다.

Abstract

This study explores the mediating role of career uncertainty stress and the moderating effect of resilience in the relationship between perceived career barriers and career satisfaction among university students during the COVID-19 pandemic. An empirical analysis was conducted with students from three universities in Chungcheongnam-do, and the key findings are as follows: First, internal career barriers were found to have a significant negative effect on career satisfaction. In other words, the more students perceived internal barriers, the less satisfied they were with their careers. On the other hand, external career barriers did not show a significant impact on career satisfaction. Second, both internal and external career barriers were positively associated with career uncertainty stress. This suggests that students facing higher internal and external barriers also experienced heightened stress due to career uncertainty. Third, career uncertainty stress played a mediating role in the relationship between internal career barriers and career satisfaction. However, this mediating effect was not found between external career barriers and career satisfaction. Lastly, resilience moderated the relationship between career barriers (both internal and external) and career satisfaction. This study provides valuable insights by clarifying how career barriers — particularly those perceived during unexpected and uncertain situations like the COVID-19 pandemic — affect career satisfaction. These findings offer practical implications for supporting students in maintaining career satisfaction during periods of crisis and uncertainty.
