(1) 연구 목적: 본 연구의 목적은 정선아리랑과 ‘정선아리랑제’가 약 100여 년에 걸쳐 형성․확산․제도화되는 과정을 ‘기록-아카이빙-활용’이라는 단계적 발전 구조 속에서 체계적으로 분석하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 일제강점기 이후 전개된 문헌 기록, 지역 축제의 제도화 과정, 무형문화재 정책, 지역 공동체의 전승 활동을 통합적으로 검토하였다. 이러한 분석은 정선아리랑이 단순한 민요가 아니라, 기록 축적과 제도적 지원, 공동체 실천이 상호작용하며 전승되는 복합적 문화유산임을 밝히고, 지속 가능한 계승을 위한 아카이브 기반 연구의 필요성을 제기하는 데 목적이 있다. (2) 연구 방법: 본 연구는 연대기적․기록학적 접근을 결합하여 정선아리랑 관련 자료의 변천과 축적 양상을 분석하였다. 먼저 문헌, 음반, 영상, 사진, 공공기록, 디지털자료 등 다양한 기록군을 유형별로 분류하고, 각 매체의 생산․수집․보존 맥락을 검토하였다. 이어 데이터 선별 기준 설정, 메타데이터 정제, 데이터베이스 구축 과정을 정리하고, OAIS 참조모형을 기반으로 한 상호운용성 구조를 설계하였다. 아울러 독립형․관계형 아카이브 모델을 제시하고, 실제 축제 자료, 서비스 사례, 온라인 콘텐츠 등 활용 사례를 비교 분석하였다. (3) 결 론: 연구 결과, 정선아리랑의 지속 가능한 전승은 네 가지 핵심 요소가 유기적으로 결합될 때 가능함을 확인하였다. 첫째, 전승의 기반이 되는 기록의 총체적 확보와 체계적 수집이 필수적이다. 둘째, 메타데이터 표준화와 OAIS 기반의 전문적 아카이빙이 이루어져야 한다. 셋째, 지역 공동체의 참여와 실천이 전승의 실질적 동력으로 작용한다. 넷째, 국제협력과 개방형 지식 공유를 통해 글로벌 문화유산으로서의 가치를 확장할 수 있다. 또한 생성형 AI 시대에는 저작권 보호, 출처 검증, 장기보존 정책 마련이 새로운 과제로 제기됨을 확인하였다.
Abstract
(1) Objectives: This study aims to trace the century-long evolution of Jeongseon Arirang and the Jeongseon Arirang Festival by analyzing their formation, dissemination, and institutionalization through a “recording-archiving-utilization” framework. The objective is to clarify how historical documentation and archival practices support sustainable cultural transmission. (2) Methods: Using a chronological and archive-centered method, the study examines print records, songbooks, audiovisual materials, public documents, and digital resources. It classifies record groups, establishes collection and metadata standards, and proposes OAIS- based interoperable archival models, including both independent and relational systems. (3) Conclusions The findings show that sustainable transmission of Jeongseon Arirang requires four interlinked elements: comprehensive documentation, standardized archiving, community participation, and international collaboration. The study also highlights emerging challenges of copyright, provenance, and long-term preservation in the era of generative AI.
