상위수준 음악가의 예술경지 도달 경험과 유형 탐색

본 연구는 한국 성인 음악영재들이 최고 수준의 음악가로 성장하는 과정에서 음악적 성취를 해 나가는 성장 경험에 관한 질적 연구이다. 국제콩쿠르 수상 경력이 있으며 현재도 세계무대에서 활동 중인 음악가 15인을 대상으로 반구조화된 심층면접을 실시하여 근거이론방법으로 연구하였다. 연구 결과 개방코딩에서 19개의 범주와 58개의 하위범주, 188개의 개념이 도출되었다. 축코딩 패러다임 모형에서 중심현상은 최상의 연주 갈망과 불완전한 음악 고뇌를 경험한 것으로 나타났으며, 음악가들이 사용하는 대처전략으로는 재능과 연습의 상생, 목표를 향한 자기 조절, 내면의 자기 직시, 음악으로 치유, 꾸준한 연주 기회로 탐색되었다. 또한 상위수준 음악가로의 예술경지 도달 경험 과정은 음악 결심기, 고뇌기, 연구기, 성장기, 향유기인 다섯 단계로 도출되었다. 한편 선택코딩에서 유형화 분석을 시도한 결과, 자기주도 예술가형, 현실지향 개척가형, 이상지향 스타형, 사회적 관계 강화형, 내적가치 실행형인 다섯 가지로 유형화되었다. 본 연구 결과는 한국 상위수준 음악영재 특성 준거의 기초자료로 활용될 것이다.
Abstract
This is a qualitative study of the developmental experiences of musically gifted Korean adult musicians as they grow into top-level musicians. The study was conducted using the grounded theory method by conducting semi-structured in-depth interviews with 15 musicians who have won international competitions and are currently active internationally. As a result of the study, 19 categories, 58 subcategories, and 188 concepts were derived from open coding. The central phenomena of the axial coding paradigm model was the desire for excellence in performance and the anguish of imperfect music. Coping strategies used by the musicians included the coexistence of talent and practice, self-regulation toward goals, inner self-reflection, healing with music, and consistent performance opportunities. In addition, the process of achieving mastery was identified as five stages: musical decision, anguish, research, growth, and enjoyment. Furthermore, the typology analysis of the selective coding revealed five types: the self-directed artist, the reality- oriented pioneer, the idealistic star, the social relationship enhancer, and the inner value practitioner. The results of this study will be utilized as a foundation for the characterization of top-level musical giftedness in Korea.
