강원학에서의 地域史 연구 위상과 과제

Abstract

As enforcing a local self-governing system, the local area was emerged as an autonomous main agent and the interest of area was high. As the interest of area was high, Regional Studies came to the fore during the situation of trying to find cultural excellence. In the Research Institute for Gangwon, Gangwon area studies started up in 21C but it was not activated. Now, An institutional basis for the promotion and establishment of Research on Gangwon Studies was established, and it will be finished soon. Local history was a basis of Gangwon studies. Local history accord with the lives of local people and seek cultural identity through the primary purpose of the Gangwon studies. Local history and tradition that has existed from the past is published and has succeeded so far. Gangwon province and other institute complied a Local history in order to look for the root of independent capability and the symbol of future. As considering the core and interest of Gangwon studies, the status and proposition of Gangwon area history is very high. Gangwon studies have a practical aspect of suggesting future vision and helping the life quality. Thus the studies should not be stopped in basic studies. Now Local history showed the progress but the research result of the aspect of usefulness is very inadequate. Now it is just the fundamental frame of studying basic studies. It is also important but high stage of studying should be required. For example, diverse area such as education, study, creation, festival, cultural industry, intelligent industry should be required and used in order to made a added value of history.
