이 연구는 강원특별자치도 고등학교 교양 선택 과목인 『강원의 역사와 문화』 교육과정을 2022 개정 교육과정에 맞게 개정하고자 하는 목적에서 출발하였다. 지역 소멸 위기와 지역 정체성 약화라는 현실에 대응하기 위해 지역사 교육의 필요성이 커지고 있으며, 본 연구는 지역 정체성 함양과 지역사회에 대한 학생들의 인식 제고를 위해 『강원의 역사와 문화』 교육과정의 실천적 개정 방안을 제시하고자 한다. 현장 교사 대상 설문조사와 심층 면담, 전문가 협의회를 바탕으로 교육과정의 문제점을 진단하고, 내용의 적정화, 학생 참여 활동 강화, 근현대사 비중 확대, 생태전환 및 평화통일 교육 등의 방향성을 도출하였다. 최종적으로는 시대별·주제별·지역별 구성의 내용 체계를 반영한 2022 개정 『강원의 역사와 문화』 교육과정을 제안하였다. 이 연구는 향후 교과서 개발 및 지역사 교육의 활성화를 위한 기초 자료로 활용될 수 있다.
Abstract
This study aims to revise the high school elective subject History and Culture of Gangwon in accordance with the 2022 revised national curriculum. In response to the ongoing crises of regional extinction and the weakening of local identity, the necessity of regional history education has grown. This study seeks to propose practical revision strategies for the curriculum that foster students’ sense of regional identity and enhance their understanding of the local community. Based on surveys, in-depth interviews with in-service teachers, and expert consultations, this study identifies key issues in the current curriculum and suggests directions such as content adjustment, enhancement of student-centered activities, expansion of modern and contemporary history, and inclusion of ecological transition and peace education. Ultimately, the study presents a newly revised curriculum that reflects a structure organized by period, theme, and region. The findings of this research are expected to serve as a foundational resource for future textbook development and the revitalization of regional history education.
