『장자(莊子)』관점에서 본 한국춤의 예술관

본 논문은 『장자(莊子)』 의 내용을 통해서, 한국춤의 동작 원리와 무자(舞者)들의 순수한 인격을 통해 도달되는 예술 경지와 연관 관계를 규명하는 데 있다.한국춤은 춤추는 사람[舞者]의 ‘저절로’ ‘자연스러운’ 동작과 깊고 곰삭은 춤맛이 어우러질 때 ‘아름다운 춤’, ‘춤다운 춤’으로 감동을 받는다. 이런 부분은 『장자』의 ‘천일합일(天一合一)’에서 중시하는 자연과 조화를 이루는 ‘저절로 자연스러움’의 원리와 상통된다. 『장자』에서 설명하는 ‘천(天)’은 ‘저절로 그러하다[自然而然]’라는 의미로서 인간이 그 무엇인가를 억지로 이루어내는 인위적(人爲的)행위와는 대비되는 관념이다. 이에 따라 본 연구는 『장자』와 한국춤 예술관과의 연관성을 다음과 같이 규명하였다. 한국춤의 동작에는 강직함과 부드러움이 공존하고 있다. 이러한 원리는 바로 음(陰)과 양(陽)의 서로 다른 기운이 상호 보완하는 음양대대(陰陽待對)의 성질을 지닌다. 음양대대 관계는 춤의 무태 원리에서 보면, 『장자』가 중시하는 자연과 합일되는 음양의 원리와 상통된다. 음양의 조화를 갖춘 춤은, 기교를 부리지 않아도 저절로 춤이 되어 지극히 자연과 조화를 이루는 춤으로 완성된다. 따라서 자연과 조화를 이루는 춤은 마음대로 추는 듯하지만 ‘자연미’가 들어있고, 거친 듯하지만 ‘소박미가’ 엿보이며, 무심한 듯 추지만 자연과 조화를 이루는 진정한 아름다움을 갖춘 춤으로 간주된다. 이는 바로 『장자』에서 발견되는 자연과 조화된 인물들의 모습과 상통되는 것으로 확인되었다. 이상의 논의 결과를 통해 본 연구는 한국춤의 동작 원리와 예술사상을 견고시키는 데 도움을 보탤 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
Korean dance is regarded as a "beautiful dance" or "dancing-like dance" when the natural movements of the dancer's breathing and emotions are harmoniously combined. This part is in line with the principle of harmony between nature and nature, which is valued in the genre, and the principle of dance that is naturally performed by itself. Accordingly, this study can identify the relationship between the principles of Korean dance and the thoughtfulness of the gutter and reveal the following. The Korean dance moves have both rigidity and softness. This principle has the characteristics of the negative and positive generations, which have different energies but complement each other. This relationship is in line with the principle of dance inattention and the principle of yin and yang in harmony with nature valued by the artisan. Therefore, dance with harmony between yin and yang is accompanied by an extremely beautiful dance without any finesse. The true beauty of Korean dance is when the true artistic value of Korean dance is revealed when it seems to be at will but has natural beauty, rough but pure simplicity is seen, and when it dances casually but harmonizes with nature. In addition to the nature of Jangja, Noni is similar to the characteristics of people in mental state. Based on the results of the discussion, I believe that this study will help solidify the principles of Korean dance movements and artistic ideas.
