이 연구는 오늘날 교육학뿐만 아니라 일반 학문에까지 널리 쓰이고 있는 내러티브의 개념을 살펴보고 내러티브 개념의 다양성과 그 의의를 탐구하는데 목적을 두고 있다. 먼저 언어학, 문학, 역사, 심리학, 교육학과 교과 교육에서 내러티브 개념이 어떻게 사용되는지 탐색하고, 교육연구에서 내러티브가 수행하는 중요한 역할을 고찰한다. 이 과정에서 탐색한 개념을 바탕으로 인간 경험의 구조, 미래 학교교육의 복원수단, 교사 경험의 성장 도구, 교사의 교육 이론 형성의 틀로서 내러티브가 갖는 의의를 논의한다. 나아가 인간 활동 속에 깊이 자리 잡고 있는 하나의 연결 통로로서의 내러티브 개념에 대해 제언해 보고 향후 과제를 제시해 본다.
Abstract
The purpose of this research is to identify concepts of narrative used across a wide academic field and to explore diversity and significance of them. In the first phase of this article, we explore how narrative is comprehened in linguistics, literature, history, psychology, and pedagogy and look deeper into the importance of narrative in research of education. And then we suggest significance of narrative as a structure of human experience, a means of reconstruction for improved schooling, a means of growth of teacher's experience, and a framework to form theories of education. This will lead to more consideration of narrative as connected passage deeply existed in human activity.
