보육교직원의 놀이중심 교육과정 실행 경험 연구

최근 영·유아교육과정이 놀이중심 교육과정 패러다임에 따라 개정되면서 놀이중심 교육과정을 운영하기 위한 교사의 자율성과 역할이 중요해졌다. 선행연구에서 놀이중심 교육과정 실행 사례 공유에 대한 보육교사 요구가 다수 보고됨에 따라 본 연구목적은 보육교직원의 놀이중심 교육과정 실행 경험의 사례를 살펴보는 것이다. 보육교직원 경험을 심도있게 들여다보기 위해 7명의 보육교직원을 대상으로 면담을 실시했다. 녹취된 면담 내용을 전사하고 전사자료를 부호화 및 범주화를 한 결과, 보육교직원은 유아와 공간이 얽힘을 지원했으며, 유아를 둘러싼 주변 세계가 놀이를 매개하도록 수용하고, 기존에 사용하지 않았던 공간을 놀이 공간으로 활용하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 놀이중심 교육과정의 원활한 실행을 위해 보육교직원은 놀이중심 평가로의 전환과 바깥 환경으로의 접근성을 높이는 것이 필요하다고 보았다. 이러한 결과는, 놀이중심 교육과정의 효과적인 실행을 위한 정책적·재정적 지원의 방향을 시사한다.
Abstract
As the paradigm of play-based curriculum in early childhood education has been pursued such as Revised Nuri curriculum, the purpose of this study is to investigate the child-care staffs’ experiences and needs in the implementation of the play-based curriculum. Individual interviews with 7 child-care staffs has been conducted. As results of coding and categorizing the contents of interviews, it was found that the staffs supported the entanglement between children and space, accepted the mediation of the surrounding world in children’s play, and made use of the space which had never been used for play. They perceived that the assessment should be aligned into the paradigm of play-based curriculum, while the outdoor accessibility should be increased. These results imply that the educational policy to reform assessment as well as financial support for facilities to increase the outdoor accessibility lead the successful implementation of play-based curriculum.
