<필사본 고소설 100선> 역주본의 인문학적 활용과 문화콘텐츠화 방향

Abstract

This study sets out to explore ways to reproduce the 66 translated and annotated versions of Kim Gwang-Sun’s Sojang Pilsabon Gososeol 100 Seon, with a focus on the spiritual utility and cultural values of modern people. The utilization of the classic novels for the academic humanities will be made by the interpretations based on the perspectives of relativism and cultural theory. Found in many works, the manifestations and sublimity of absolute love, as well as the reciprocity of the man-woman relationship provide modern people a chance for introspection regarding the attainment of affection and gender equality. In many of these novels, the main characters exhibit an attitude of placing spiritual values before material ones as a sacrificial and altruistic act. This provides modern people an opportunity to reflect on their lives as they pursue spiritual values, while being satisfied with material values. In this type of literary therapy, readers position themselves in the scenes, words, and actions of the main characters in hardship and by the expansion of the characters misery, the reader will experience a catharsis. In literary therapy through writing, readers release their repressed thoughts and desires through indirect ways by adopting the allegoric meanings those fables and novels. Before the cultural contents of classical novels can be understood, it is necessary to present them in modern language, and reinterpret them so that modern people see themselves in the lives of the characters. When elements and technologies of the current pop-culture are incorporated, they will be able to drive consumption. Seohaemureunggi contains narrative elements that are able to tell a story through games. Kkwonguijachiga is able to create a modern version of Jangkkijeon through reinterpretation along with different versions of Jangkkijeon. Gangreungchuwoljeon has elements that can be processed for Gangreung's local festivals. Finally, this study proposes the establishment of A Center on the Literature of Classical Novels in order to exhibit classical novels and offer a variety of performance and experience programs.
