A New Forage Rapeseed Hybrid (Brassica napus L.) withGood Quality and High Yield, “Cheongram”

Abstract

heongramis a new hybrid rapeseed ( Brassica napus L.) with high yield and high quality for forage. This hybridwas developed from the cros between Mokpo-CGMS (male sterile line) and Mokpo 64 (restore line) in 1996. Forage yield ofheongramwas 57% higher than check variety with 6,423 kg/10a in regional adaptability test (RAT). The contents of NO3-N ofheongramas a marker of forage quality was half level of check variety with 1,521 mg L-1. This variety was recommended as aleading variety at all area of south korea except cool alpine areas in 2001.
