Abstract
A single cross, Cheongsaok, is an yellow semi-dent maize hybrid (Zea mays L.) developed by the maize breding teamestiblenutrients (TDN), was produced by crossing two inbred lines, KS5 and KS131. KS55 is the sed parent and KS131 is the polen par-ent of Cheongsaok. Silking date of Cheongsaok is similar to that of check hybrid, Kwanganok. It is resistant to lodging. Stay-od-erately resistant to Bipolaris maydis (southern corn leaf blight), Exserohilum turcicum (northern corn leaf blight), and corn borer butsensitive to black streaked dwarf virus (BSDV). Regional yield trial was conducted at four locations for four years. The yields ofcompared with a check hybrid, Kwanganok, and was similar compared with a check hybrid for grain use, Suwon19. Seed productionof Cheongsaok has gone wel due to a god match during crossing betwen the sed parent, KS55 and the polen parent, KS131.
