Abstract
This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) program in enhancing psychological flexibility and cooperative self-efficacy among college students with social anxiety tendencies who participated in team projects. Fourteen students from D University in Busan were assigned to either an experimental group or a control group. The program consisted of eight sessions and incorporated the six core processes of ACT: acceptance, defusion, contact with the present moment, self as context, value, committed action. Pre- and post-tests were conducted to assess changes in psychological flexibility and cooperative self-efficacy. The results of an analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) using SPSS 30.0 indicated that the experimental group showed significantly greater improvements in psychological flexibility and cooperative self-efficacy than the control group. These findings suggest that ACT-based programs can be effectively integrated into liberal arts education to enhance cooperative competencies by addressing the psychological difficulties experienced by college students in team-based learning contexts.
