이 연구는 메타버스 환경에서 발생할 수 있는 위험 요소를 사용자 보호 관점에서 식별하고, 이에 대한 사용자들의 위험 인식을 분석하여 정책적 시사점을도출하는 것을 목표로 한다. 연구에서는 뉴스 기사 데이터를 수집해 토픽모델링(LDA)을 통해 12개의 위험 토픽을 도출하였고, 이를 건강 위험, 자산 손실 위험, 정보 보안 위험으로 분류하였다. 설문조사 결과, 사용자들은 메타버스의 위험을 어느 정도 인식하고 있으나 전문적인 이해는 부족하며, 두려움 수준도 중간 정도로 나타났다. 이는 사용자들이 위험을 인지하면서도 메타버스를 수용하려는 태도를 보이고 있음을 의미하며, 효과적인 위험 커뮤니케이션 방안이 필요함을 시사한다. 본 연구는 텍스트 마이닝을 활용해 비정형 데이터를 분석함으로써 메타버스 위험 연구의 확장 가능성을 보여주었으며, 메타버스 서비스 설계및 정책 수립 시 사용자 안전 확보를 위한 기초자료로 활용될 수 있다.
Abstract
This study aims to identify potential risk factors in the metaverse from a user protection perspective and analyze users' perceptions of these risks to derive policy implications. The research involved collecting news articles and applying topic modeling (LDA) to extract 12 risk topics, which were categorized into health risks, asset loss risks, and information security risks. Survey results indicated that while users are somewhat aware of the risks associated with the metaverse, their understanding remains limited, and their fear level is moderate. This suggests that users are willing to accept the metaverse despite recognizing its risks, highlighting the need for effective risk communication strategies. By employing text mining to analyze unstructured data, this study demonstrates the potential to expand research on metaverse risks and serves as foundational data for ensuring user safety in the design and policy development of metaverse services.
