Abstract

The goal of this study is to investigate the effects of exposure to a mobile shopping mall application brand and product purchase frequency to use the mobile shopping mall application on product purchase intention. To obtain the goal, an experiment with 53 females in their 20’s was conducted. As a result, as participants’ product purchase frequency to use a mobile shopping mall application increased, their intention to purchase 4 products (minivaccum, bluetooth speaker, tooth paste, fabric softner) was marginally higher when exposed to the mobile shopping mall application brand than when not exposed to the mobile shopping mall application brand. However, for products with a high perceived risk (minivaccum, bluetooth speaker), exposure to the mobile shopping mall application brand and product purchase frequency to use the mobile shopping mall application did not affect product purchase intention. But as participants’ product purchase frequency to use the mobile shopping mall application increased, their intention to purchase products with a low perceived risk (tooth paste, fabric softner) was significantly higher when exposed to the mobile shopping mall application brand than when not exposed to the mobile shopping mall application brand. Theoretical and practical implications of these findings are discussed.
