『산해경』지명 비정도 작성

《산해경(山海經)》은 중국 선진(先秦)1) 시대에 저술되었다고 추정되는 가장 오래된 지리서이다. 고대의 신화와 지리가 함께 수록된 산해경은 하(夏)나라의 우(禹) 임금과 그의 신하 백익(伯益)이 국토를 정리하고 각지의 산물을 파악한 결과를 정리 한 것으로 알려져 있다. 우리나라의 역사서, 고지도 또는 중국의 고지도를 연구할 때 산해경에 나오는 지명의 이해는 알아두어야 기본지식의 하나이다. 여기서는 산해경에 나오는 수많은 옛 지명이 지금의 어디에 해당하는지를 전문학자들의 연구를 참고하여 데이터베이스로 만들고, 지금의 지도위에 이 지명들을 표시하여 쉽게 알아볼 수 있도록 시도하였다.
Abstract
『Shan Hai Jing』(山海經, Collection(Classic) of the Mountains and Seas) is a Chinese classic text that is at least 2,200 years old. It is largely a fabled geographical and cultural account of pre-Qin China as well as a collection of mythology. The book is about 31,000 words long, and is divided into eighteen sections; it describes over 550 mountains and 300 channels. In the present study, the old place names of 『Shan Hai Jing』 were identified to current place names. For further understand of the mythological stories of the book, the old place names were showed on the current map of China.
