국내 법의곤충학의 연구 경향과 발전 방향에 대한 문헌적 고찰

법의곤충학은 시신과 관련된 곤충 증거를 법정에서 과학적 증거로 이용하는 법과학의 한 분야이다. 1994년부터 2019년까지 국내에서 24년간 발표된 법의곤충학과 관련된 논문을 재검토한 결과, 총 9편의 박사학위 논문, 11편의 석사학위 논문과 38편의 학술지 논문이 발표되었으나 대부분 곤충에 대한 전문적인이해가 부족하였다. 게다가 주로 분자생물학적 종 확인과 돼지 사체를 이용한 실험에만 집중되어 최소사후경과시간의 추정을 위한 구더기의 형태학적 연구와 성장 속도에 대한 연구가 요구되었다. 향후, 법의곤충학 연구의 질적인 향상과 곤충 증거의 법과학적인 적용을 위하여, 한국인정기구(Korea Laboratory Accreditation Scheme, KOLAS)의 인증제도를 도입하여 활성화되어야 할 것이다.
Abstract
Medico-legal entomology belongs to forensic science and uses insect evidence related to the body as scientific evidence in court. From 1994 to 2019, Korean papers related to medico-legal entomology were reviewed. Total 9 dissertations, 11 master’ thesis, 38 articles were counted, however most of them had no specialized background on insects and were cited with low frequency. In addition, because molecular biological species identification and experiments using pig carcasses were mainly focused, it was urgent to study on the growth rate and morphological species identification of maggots for the estimation of minimum postmortem intervals. In the future, in order to improve the quality of Korean medico-legal entomology research and forensic application of insect evidence, various studies by insect specialists and certification system for forensic entomologist are necessary.
