비교신화적 각도에서 본 동서양 창조신화에 나타난 여성적 생명원리 -중국 신화와 그리스 신화에 나타난 혼돈, 구멍, 뱀의 이미지를 중심으로-

Abstract

This thesis focused on the women's creative principles of Chinese and Greek creation myths. First I wanted to compare and analysis a chaos of the East and the West myths. The women's images of the West myth are classified into a dangerous and dirty beings, so theses images are regarded as dangerous powers which could destroy the order of cosmos. Secondly I analyzed the images of a hole. In Greek myth the sacred and horrorful images of a hole are coexisted. Comparing to Greek myth, the East myth have a positive images of a hole. For example, during the Goguryo(高句麗) dynasty Susin(隧神) which is a god of a hole was worshiped. In Goguryo the images of a hole was connected with religious and political evaluations. There are two different apprehensions about the image of a snake. A snake is originally regarded as a auspicious animal in the East and the West myths. But Comparing to the East myth, there are various stories of the elimination of snakes by heroes in the West myth. This situation can prove the women's images could be included into the equal concept of nature, animal and alien in the West society.
